A picture of a pole vaulter. The statue is outside the Australian Institute of Sport at Bruce in canberra.

This year I am going to use the hashtag #cssia17 to aggregate, curate and share sport informatics and analytics resources.

The cs part of the hashtag is for Clyde Street, this blog.

This is an exciting time to be involved in the observation and analysis of sport performance. I am keen to reflect on the practice and theory of performance analysis and analytics and to be part of a conversation about how we produce actionable insights.

The cs part of the hashtag does indicate that this is a personal perspective fuelled by a desire, as Albert Szent-Gyorgyi suggests, to look at the same thing as everyone else does … and think something different.
