Price and Value as a Performance Analyst

Background This post what I think Mark Upton calls a fragment. It is my attempt to pull together some strands in a debate I need to explore. It is a debate about valuing people not pricing them. I have an apology to make at the outset. In a post written yesterday,  I mentioned that I had been discussing internships with the Australian Catholic University’s  2018 cohort of the Graduate Certificate in Performance Analysis course. I did not make it explicit (hence my apology) that it was a lively discussion and I used the word 'slavery' and talked about 'minimum living wages'. It started with...

#ACUGCPA18 #PerformanceAnalysis: Adam, Hamish and Mitch

I had the pleasure of presenting with Adam Hewitt, Hamish Jeacocke and Mitch Mooney on Day 1 of #ACUGCPA18. Each has given me permission to share their presentations as an archive of the day. I really enjoyed the three presentations of colleagues (and friends) whom I hold in the highest regard. Monday morning #ACUGCPA18

I had an opportunity to meet students enrolled in the the Australian Catholic University’s  2018 cohort of the Graduate Certificate in Performance Analysis course. My co-presenters on Monday morning were, Adam Hewitt and Hamish Jeacocke. We have known each other for over a decade. I have a resource sheet for my presentation (A Partial History of Performance Analysis). https://docs.google.com/document/d/1C5LhDLKYlG1vKRcx_u7UsFEOoM1vPjPnQacu9Dtyr8w/edit I am looking forward to sharing Adam and Hamish's presentations too. At the end of my presentation, the students kindly listened to my thoughts on internship. I am mindful that everyone in the room was contemplating a career pathway in performance analysis. My basic position...

#ACUGCPA18: Looking back again to look forward

I have an opportunity to return to the Australian Catholic University’s Strathfield campus in February to meet students enrolled in the 2018 cohort of the Graduate Certificate in Performance Analysis course. I have been working on my presentation to update the resources I shared on Clyde Street last week. I am using Speaker Deck for my 2018 online resource and embed it here with the EmbedPress plugin for WordPress. https://speakerdeck.com/keith_lyons/a-partial-history-of-performance-analysis-1 This was created with a pdf file downloaded from this Google Slides deck (this has my speaker notes).
